SIZE & ROOM PLANNING
Choose Furniture That Fits the Room — Not Just the Wall
Sofa size is about more than overall width. Depth, arm shape, usable seating space,
access into the room and the furniture around it all affect how well a piece will
actually work in your home.
A larger sofa is not always the better choice. In some rooms, a smaller sofa paired
with a chair or stool can create a more comfortable and flexible layout than simply
choosing the biggest piece that will fit.
A USEFUL STARTING POINT
Mark the approximate footprint of your chosen sofa on the floor with masking tape.
It gives you a much clearer sense of scale, circulation space and how the room will
feel once the furniture arrives.
